Les Glycines & Spa, Hotel in the Périgord noir

The Périgord noir, a region renowned for haute cuisine and prehistory

The Dordogne is a very touristic French department. This Mecca of haute cuisine and prehistory is made up of 4 regions: the Périgord blanc, pourpre, vert and noir (white, purple, green and black). The Périgord noir is so named after its dark and dense holm oak forests and boasts many treasures that you can discover during a stay at the hotel Les Glycines. Ideally located in the village of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil, the world capital of prehistory, the hotel is not far from Sarlat-la-Canéda. You will stay in the leafy surroundings of its gardens and discover the tastes of the Périgord in its restaurant.

A charming hotel with restaurant, swimming pool and spa

Les Glycines is a 4-star hotel dating back nearly 150 years. In 1862, it was a farm building which later served as a coaching inn. Today Les Glycines has all modern conveniences, and is decorated in a contemporary style that is inspired by the estate's history. Over the years, the hotel has expanded its services, and today it has 26 luxurious rooms and suites, a gourmet restaurant, a bistro that is open at lunchtime, a swimming pool that takes pride of place in the 2½ hectares of flowering gardens, and a top-of-the-range spa.

Gourmet cuisine at the restaurant of Les Glycines

Discover the tastes and aromas of the Périgord through the gourmet cuisine of chef Eric Jung and his creative and fine dishes. The Périgord region has an unrivalled agricultural wealth, with its black truffles, ducks and foie gras, walnuts and vineyards that produce highly reputed wines such as Monbazillac. As far as visiting the area is concerned, the hotel is located at the gateway to a number of iconic sites such as the cliffs of the Vézère, the Grand-Roc cave and the Cro-Magnon shelter, as well as the Château de Tayac, a listed historical monument built on rocks and overlooking the village of Les Eyzies.
